Can they help reduce double vision and halos? My double vision is getting worse and I was wondering if the thick soft lenses would help or does it sound like I need the RGPs?

Soft lenses have certainly helped me - they have enabled me to drive legally in the last few months, although you still don't get the complete clarity of vision I am now getting with the RGP's . But they are soooo much more comfortable!

I would see if you can give them a trial - they may work for you.

Thanks Pat. I will ask for them at my next eye test. Things have progressed and my eyes are worse so I know I need lenses now. If the soft ones help while I am waiting then I will try them, its important to me that I am able to stay driving!

Are you getting two images in one eye, or is your "double vision" a result of a mismatch of the images from each eye?

Donna,

A thicker soft lens such as the Kerasoft I am trying may help get better vision as rather than wrapping itself to the shape of the cornea, it has a bit more shape to correct the curvature.

So far I would say my original RGP's are by far the best because of the fact they are rigid so properly restore the curve of the cornea and the tears making up the rest.

The main problem I am having with the Kerasoft is getting rid of the multiple images in each eye.

Suggests to em that the soft lenses you have just mould to the KC cone and do nothing for the KC itself, or very little anyways.

Perhaps it is time to give another type of lens a go.

For my part I found Rigid Gas Permeable lenses the best. I never really took to the thick soft ones.

If RGP corneal lenses are no good for you, you could always try the Sclerals that so many people here like. I found my Scleral a great benefit as it extended the time I could see with lenses after RGP's ceased to be an option for me.
