what does your double vision look like?

I dont see mutiple images side by side, I see one above the other. Anyone else the same?

Side by side, above and below, diagonally, ....well anywhere really! And it's different with each eye....and the time of day....

My multiple images are all diagonally because that is the direction of my main astigmatism.

It is hard for people with normal sight to understand this, they think we just see two iomages side by side which go away when we close one eye. If only KC was that simple!

its a pain in the neck when you are trying to read something! I was really struggling at work yesterday!
Any tips on how to cope or do I have to read everything twice for ever now? :oops:

I get really bad halos without lenses in. I honestly thought that was what everyone saw with street lights etc until i got my first lens! LOL!!

Double vision is diagonally with the image overlapping each other, but it depends on how my eye is on the day as it changes.

If it is a paper document I put it to A3 or if it is the computer I have the screen at a high resolutions but large font in the windows settings. Things look less blocky when enlarged.

I have enlargement software and windows has a crude version which helps too. Still see multiple images but to a lesser degree for me when I do this.

Adjusting the lighting helps me too, natural light is far better for me than artificial.

I just covered my eye and checked!

Mine is doubled below but also a bit diagonal to the right.

I was looking at the writing in the message and I couldn't make out the words. When I got my face close enough to the screen to be able to read it there was no double image though (if that makes any sense)...

Perfect sens which is why I enlarge documents when I can not see and have a large monitor at work and home.

I was trying to explain this ghosting effect to my boss last year, as we changed to smaller lab numbers which I was struggling with. His response was that if that was the case the size would not make much difference and the old favourite 'could they not give me some special glasses for work. My reply of course 'if they could I'd be wearing them!'

Thats why if i have the paper just about touching my nose , I can see with no ghosting!
Large print it is then! Well where ever possible anyway.
I love this site :wink: it makes me feel like I can cope with this
