Disappointing

I was meant to be going in to have my 2nd eye fitted with intacs today, but when they did the inital screening it was decided to leave it a while longer. Talk about disappointing!!!

Because the 1st eye (my right) hasn't shown an improvement in vision (the topography and my actual eye look great though apparently), the surgeon wants to wait it out and see how things go in case he has to change anything for the other eye.

He also said my left eye had something on it caused by contact lenses (He mentioned the epithelium I think) even though it's been 3 wks since wearing my hard lens and 3 days since the soft. Not sure what all that's about but he did ask if my eye was sore. It feels the same as always though, I haven't noticed a difference.

Oh well.. it's now 3 weeks till my next appointment and then hopefully i'll be able to schedule the op again.

In the meantime it's no lens in the left and a soft one over the intac in the right.

Thanks 4 the vent.. I feel slightly better now!

I know that it must have been a blow to be told that they would not fit Intacs into eye number 2, but it may still be a wise precaution.

On the upside you have the better topography, and ot may be that this will lead to sight good enough to give your specialist confidence to proceed with the second eye.

All the best

Hi Andrew.

Thanks for the reply.

You are right - it makes sense to wait it out... it's just such a hassle. It's been mths since i've had adequate vision and not being able to drive is just getting annoying.

I was also expecting this whole process to be over (including C3R) by the time uni goes back at the end of Feb, but now I don't think that's going to happen unfortunately.

Oh well.. I guess it's just a matter of trying to be patient and waiting for an improvement in my vision!

Sorry to hear that. It is disappointing when we are waiting for something which we hope will help.

Hoping that things get better for you soon, love Sweet X x X

Thanks.

Yeah I think that's it. I was hoping the outcome on this eye would be better than the 1st. Now that it's not happening I feel like i'm back to square one.

It's a frustrating wait...
