Well, yesterday i was worrying about blood vessels, this morning i was still worrying about blood vessels when i woke up, so got my camera out took a pic so i could get a good look. Noticed something on my cornea, thought it was just yucky boogey stuff seeing i had just woke up.

Had shower, took eye shield off....things still werent looking too good, very blurry. Anyway to cut a long story short went to a & e was seen and sent to ward within 15 mins. Hour and a half later still waiting for my notes, but anyway turns out, I am now the proud owner of a cornea ulcer.

I could cry, infact i probably will later (ill let u know where the tears come from craig). I cant believe it. Think im cursed. For some reason before i had it done, i was worried about the aftermath, first the leak, now this, only one more thing to go and then i might get some peace. Anyone else had an ulcer?

One day i'll post with good news....

Hun so sorry to read this. Is this your grafted eye??

I have had an ulcer and it was terrible. Had to have so much time off work as i obviously couldn't put a lens in to see. It does heal but takes a long time and a lot of antibiotic eyedrops.

I am glad that you did go and get it looked at. My ulcer wasn't on the grafted eye, i hadn't had it done then. Having three ulcers pushed me into getting my other eye done in the hope that i wouldn't have to rely on just one eye again.

I really do hope that things get better for you soon. Stay strong and keep posting to let us know how you are doing. Things will get better, it just takes a lot of time but you can get through this.

Sweet - tis in my grafted eye, so suppose in a sort of bad way its a good thing cause i can still see. When u say urs took a long time to heal, how long?

i never got antibiotic drops, i got zovirak to put in 5 times a day, and keep using maxitrol 4 times.

need to go see a consultant, but wont b until next thursday, unless it gets worse.

Zovirax will knock a viral infection right on the head. I'd guess that they saw no evidence of any bacterial invasion around the ulcer.

If there is no sign of an infection then you won't need any antibiotics and zoviraz will do very well.

Mine took a very long time to heal BUT this is only because i overwore my lens and had a lot of infections. I had to have seven months off work which almost killed me!

I am hoping that yours will heal soon. I just had a load of problems with infections and iritis which took forever to heal. Yours shouldn't take as long although most ulcers may take a month or so.
