I've always used looking at the moon to assess accurately how many multiple images I see, as it's such a clear distinction between light and dark.

Yesterday was the first clear sky since having my graft, and I could only see three plus the actual, and they were in a definite diagonal line.

To a person without KC this may be upsetting, but I was pleased!

Before, I could see at least 10, and they were scattered all over the place.

I am no corneal expert, but I wonder if the diagonal line means that once the new cornea is settled, maybe only one or two stitches in a certain area need to be removed?

I also think the other image problem I thought I had isn't there (mentioned in another thread). I think it's just how my graft eye sees by itself, and the further away an object is, the greater the gap between the three duplicated images and the actual image.

Well done on the ingenious lunar test.

It is a pity you have to wait for a clear night before you can tell how good your sight is!

Sorry to be dense (all this idle time at home is addling my brain!). Does that mean it's easily correctable later in the year when the graft has settled?

The surgeon will be looking for this and gradually remove stiches to help the cornea to heal with the least amount of astigmatism. Next time you have a stich out you will probably see the moon images ata different angle initially but hopefully fewer images.

If you have ever sewn a round badge or patch on something you'll know how hard it is to get it flat and no slight creases in!

I also look at the moon to check my eye. I haven't had a graft yet mind, so have more fun trying to guess which image is the correct one so to speak. I believe at the moment I see somewhere between 6 -15 moons.

The post graph moon test is something I'll now look forward to.

The great thing about multiple images is that they are all correct! suddely the universe is a far richer place.

I see 7+ moons with my left eye & 6 with my right - and they are all over the place.

My left eye is very dominant and so what I see normally is what my left eye sees. Can someone tell me what the term is for a very lazy eye please - I know it's got a special name? Thanks.

I have just done your moon test.......UMMM I am a little disappointed as it's just a big blur to me. I will be three wks post on friday. Do you think this will get better? Also i have noticed i seem to have a constant headache. Can anyone shed ant light on this (ooops no pun intended)

I am sure it will get better. After the graft, the vision seemed to get a little clearer each day but has now stabilised and maybe won't improve again for some time. I can't read out of it by any means, it is just I can make out what objects are and could, at a push, walk around using just that eye. In a way it's a bit of a doubled-edged sword because it makes the astigmatism clearer too so everything in my house is triplicated (and some..!). I get headaches too, but wake up with them along with swollen sinuses. I had these before the op so don't think it's connected.
