Changing opticians/any good ones in the north west ?

Hi All

I've been with the same opticians since I was diagnosed, it's a sole practice, and the previous two opticians were fabulous, really understanding my condition. In time they both retired. A few weeks ago I went for a check up and the new person was really unplesant and I don't think she knew much about my condition and I know this sounds bizarre but it really hurt and I was unable to wear my lenses for a couple of days afterwards (fortunately I was on a weeks holiday from work - don't know what I'd have done otherwise)

Anyway - does anyone know a good optician in the North-West (I live in Wigan) and do you just make an appointment ? or do you need your records ?

Many thanks

I think that the eye hospital in Manchester has a contact lens clinic. If you could get a referral there you would be sure to be seen by optometrists who are skilled in fitting KC eyes.

Not too sure on my geography though.

Just to confirm the Manchester hospital does have a contact lens clinic but a couple of years ago I heard it was a long wait to get referred!

Might be different now.
