Hi

Has anyone ever had like a scratching and soreness pain in their eye when they blink. I currently have that.

Strangely it came on. on a day when i was not wearing lenses, I put my lenses in yesterday and the pain then went away. I took them out last night not noticing any pain, but woke up this morning with quite a sore eye. It has subsided over the day and i seem to notice it more when i move my eyeball. If i just stare, i dont notice any pain or photophobia.

I have an appointment tomorrow 10:10 at windsor hospital, not sure what to expect, but im going without my lenses in and giving my eyes a rest.

Anyone else ever experienced the above

I think I experience what you are describing. Sore itchy dry eyes. I was diagnosed with Bhlepharitis (sorry not sure if spelling is correct) in both eye lids. I now used Rapitil eye drops twice daily and at the end of each day place a red hot flannet on my eyes until the heat has left the flannel, then I massage the eye lids. It works for me. Last time I went to hospital I was told the Blepharitis was under control and my lens wearing is now much more comfortable. Perhaps you could get check out at your next appt. Libby

To me, it sounds like you may have experienced a corneal scratch with the 'gritty' like feel that you have described. Let us know how you get on at the hospital, and keep the lens out!

Nothing to much to add, but sounds more like dry eye to me which the wetting solution used when inserting the lens is enough to overcome.

Could aslo be a scratch like Amarpal says. I find in both situations Systane by Alcon works for me, but search the dry eye threads you will find many other eye drops recomended. To find what is best is a case of try one for a couple of weeks and see what works best.

Sounds like a scratch to me as it went away when you covered it with a lens which stopped it being rubbed!

Libby my twin sister has that as well, though she doesn't do any of the hygiene things she should be doing!!

Thanks for the advice, it turns out it was a scratch coupled with a bit of iritis. Today it is a lot lot better and he has given me some eyedrops (i HOPE THE PHARMACIST CAN READ HIS WRITING).

He recommended seeing holland again, but I only saw him 2 weeks ago and he mentioned that the lens fit was fine. So I expect he will tell me to try it a few more weeks.

I can wear the left lens no problems though and that does legally pass me for driving which is a bonus.

He said once again that i have a lot of protein in the corners of my eyes, so he gave them a good wash, there was also some protein buildup under my eyelids. I seem to have a massive problem with protein on these soft lenses. The protein removers for soft lenses dont seem to be doing the trick. Does anyone else have kerasofts and use a specific protein remover?

Glad that you have it all sorted! Iritis is really nasty, i have had it twice and suffered badly with photophobia and extreme pain.

I just use a general protein remover for both lenses which seems to do the trick. I only use it monthly but use it more if my lenses are bad.
