Small update from me

Postby John W » Tue 12 Dec 2006 5:31 pm

Hi,

I had my usual 4 month check today. The soft lenses are still a go go and there has been no change in my right eye. I could read the seventh line down with correction.

The left eye was bad, could not see the top line with current lens. With a couple of additional powers (which match the last prescription) I could get to the 6th line. Barry thinks the previous lens was made incorrectly.

So all in all I think there was no change and can read the seventh line, which i think is 5/6 corrected.

I asked him about red eyes and he said im bad with protein, does anyone recommend some good protein removers? He said the build up of protein has been scratching my eye (sounds horrible)

anyway quite a good result

Next one not till June 11th.

Hope all others are ok and those who have had recent grafts are doing fine.

John

Thats good news! I get quite a bit of irritation when I do not use protein remover on my lenses for prolonged periods of time. I find that any protein removal tablets work well, I use AMO Total Care tablets. But I do fnd a big difference with protein removal. However, you say you use soft contact lenses- I do not know what kinds of protein removal trestments there are for soft lenses.

Another bit of good news.

I use Bausch and Lomb protein remover and I find using Systane Eye drops for dry eye. They also appear to reduce the prtein build up. Leses used to become scratchy afetr a weeks use, now that only happens after 2 - 3 weeks lens wear and I have forgotten to use the protein remover.

The eye drops may help calm down the pinkness too.
