Interesting (amazing) visual effect

OK, I had a great experience early today. This is for all you post-graft, not-yet-focused folks on the forum:
I got to work and noticed a pair of binoculars under the bench. I used to take them out to see down the block or watch the trains or whatever........so I got them back out today and left on the Objective Lens cover on my non-graft eye and looke through only with my new, NOT AT ALL FOCUSED EYE and WOW!!! I could see. Yes, greatly magnified, but clear, like it used to be 15-years ago. i could have cried. This proves to me that eventually i can expect to have a pair of lenses or glasses that will let me focus and SEE AGAIN!!!
Will someone else try this and post their results? Thanks

It's great when things like that happen, it helps give you a great boost and reminds you that there is something worth waiting for.

Piper,
Even though i am only 5 days post graft and the vision in that eye is probaly a little more blurry than before, when i just look out of my grafted eye i only have one (blurry) image instead of loads.
Gets me excited every time i do it
Hubby thinks i am devoloping a nervous twitch
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Come on bring on the next 18 months.

Hehhe!! I have that nervous twitch as well then!!!!
I love to use the pinhole glasses we have in work!!! Sooo much better!!!

That's so funny! I always feel folk must think I'm winking at them, as I walk down the very long hospital corridor where I work, testing my vision on every available sign. Shame it's getting worse rather than better at the moment, one year post graft. Roll on 2007, hoping having the stitch removed will help.

i have a twitch too, always winking at folk, also developed a skill, dont know how, but i could cry out of one eye - then just blame KC, was handy when at cinema and ur crying at a disney film or something

Long before I had my first graft, while I was registered blind, I used to be able to watch shipping on the river (I live next to one of the world\s most beautiful estuaries), using the binoculars we keep at the window. I think it had to do with the very short distance between the optical lens and my eye: the equivalent of my holding a page of text right beside my eye and being able to read.

Lol. The twitch comments I can totally associate with.
I kind of have one at the moment too (had my intac inserted in my right eye about a wk ago)...
Only problem is that I can't close just my left eye so I need to cover it with my hand. I've probably been getting a load of funny looks lately!
