Hi All, and thanks for the best wishes,

I am at home and i feel fine, i really don't know what you were all making such a fuss about

Op went well, took a bit longer than expected and was a bit more tricky so i was told. did'nt finish untill 11.00 last night! Its a large graph and i did have a DALK in the end i also had to have my eyelid cut has anyone else had this?
I have chloramphenicol to take 4 times a day, Dexamethasone to take 6 times a day, i am also taking oral Prednisolone starting at 60mg and working down over the month, just to keep dry eye and infection at bay.

I have to say i feel great my eyesight isn't any worse than it was before the op(so i guess my right eye was pretty useless)
A bit swollen and watery but it doesn't feel light senstive at all.
I go back for a check up on Friday.
Speak to you all soon

Anne

P.S Sarah M hope all is going well for you and look forward to hearing from you :D

Really pleased it all went OK for you.

Can you tell me what all the prep for the dry eye you went through pre-op?

I was speaking with a lady at the Birmingham meet who also has really bad dry eye problems like you and she has not been put forward for a graft depsite lens intolerance like you had due to dry eyes. A beetr understanding of what you have been through regarding the dry eye leading upto the graft would be a great help and comfort to her.

Regards

Gareth

Hi Anne,

I'm so pleased for you that you're back in circulation so quickly. Especially after all you've been through recently. I'm glad that you've not turned photophobic either.

The drugs you're on seem to be about mid-way between the does I had after my two operations, so that's probably to be expected.

I must admit to not having heard of the eyelid being cut before. Was that something that you expected? Do you know why? (Then again, I'd never heard of eyelids being stapled shut until I woke up after my op!)

We will certainly raise a glass or three to you and Sarah on Sunday. All the best!

Hi All

Just after a bit of advice, My eye is still really red and puffy and my vision is blurry should i be worried. I realise that it has just been through alot and it makes sense that it is still red etc, but on the other hand the hospital sent me home with a note saying to go to A and E if it becomes red or vision is blurry :?
Not really sure what i should be doing (that makes a change i hear you all say  )

Any advice would be good

Anne
