This is my first time to write in this great forum,

i would like to ask is there is a big researches done to try to overcome KC?

i know that every 2000 person (only one person got the Keratoconus)

it means that there is a 3,000,000 person have a KC in the world (I Think)

it's a small number regarding to the world,

i hope that researchers can find an easy solutions to KCs

Research into KC is ongoing. You will always here about the latest developments on this forum!

However, I don't think there is much reasearch into actually overcoming keratoconus, but more research into how to deal with it and to actually find out how it is caused first of all.

Welcome to the forum.

There is lots of research going on. The one many talk about is the continued developemnt of collegen crosslinking (C3R) for the treatment of early to mild cases to helps the early management of the condition.

There are also genetic studies to try and determine the cause. So far it appears that several recessive genes need to be present together to make you pre-disposed to KC but not neceserily get it. These researchers think the KC is then triggerd by either a hormonal or another environmental response.

So far much of the research has created more questions than answers and so is a very chellenging subject.
