multiple images post-graft?

first.....to all you "old timers" here, please excuse me for being such a worry wort. But, after living years with mustiple images in my KC eyes I really am scared of what I have seen so far with my graft. At present, one week out, it is beginning to focus on things......I can tell the cat from the dog...and see the TV screen, but not much on it. However, when viewing a light like a streetlinght or a little power light in the dark on the coffee pot, I see several of them....same sort of multiple images and it is really scary. the bilg difference is that with the KC eye I still see images EVERYPLACE.....and with the graft they are all LINED UP, VERTICALLY MOSTLY.......

Anybody else had this? Can you set my mind at ease and tell me that this will settle and is normal?

Except for a little scratchiness and a really tired eye, I feel pretty good. No complications, no pain.

Thanks, Piper

Hey there! :D

I just replied to your pm, thanks for that it was really sweet!

Everyone is so different post graft, it took me about a year before i noticed a real change as in being able to read anything but it was very close up! I did notice more colour immediately after but it has taken a long long time hehe!

Hoping that it settles down soon with you. It does take time but it is hard when we wait so long and just want to see!!

Take it easy ... Sweet X x X

Piper,

Heard of this many times and it comes down to depending what angle you are looking at lights such as is it reflecting off of stitches; the brain getting used to seeing more from the grafted eye etc.

Throughout the healing process you will notice many subtle changes which seem major to you just because you have not been able to see such things for a long time.

Hi Piper - as an 'old-timer' I can say yes, it is normal and yes it will settle down. I used to have great fun post graft (before I could wear a contact lens in that eye) counting how many moons I could see. The best was the crescent moon when I got up to 31 one night. Quite spectacular! Now with glasses or with contact lenses, the night sky has become quite boring again. As have all the other light sources. No more getting 10 times the fun as anyone else at firework displays!
I can't remember now how long the multiple images went on (my grafts were 20 yrs ago) - others who have had more recent grafts may be able to tell you what to expect.

Anne.....with my ungrafted eye I can see and count(clearly) 76 moons.....with the inevitable smearing between then.....seeing only 31 would be real holiday!!

"God, please give me the patience to just WAIT till this all clears up. Amen"
