If it helps persuade more people to join the organ register then great but I think I'd be a bit - for want of a better word - unsettled if I'd had a graft in the right time frame to be a possible recipient. It goes without saying how grateful I am to my donors and their families but not knowing who they are has helped me with the psychological side of the whole process.

Yes, it is good to see this promoted. Of all organs for transplant, fewer people tend to donate corneas for some reason.

The BBC has a story on it, too.

yes people are funny about their eyes and its only by raising awarness like the news clip. fingers crossed more will donate their corneas. when ever I tell people what I had done they say ouch and then say I could never go through that someone touching my eyes.
