Lens Carriers on Aircraft

Postby Paul Brown » Mon 16 Oct 2006 8:54 am

I understand that, under the new security rules, non-disposable contact lenses in carriers with a small amount of solution can be taken on board an aircraft but that bottles of solution have to be put in hold luggage. Has anyone taken lens carriers on board an aircraft or had any difficulties doing so? (A 7 week round-the-world trip is planned.)

Paul

I have a colleauge who returned from New York last friday who wears standard contact lenses...this is what he did

Wore his lenses, went through the screening, and at the other side bought a New case and New sealed solution. He was again searched prior to boarding and they said it was ok to take in as it was sealed and evident he bought it from Duty Free Boots.

It looks like this is the pattern we are going to have to follow in future.
