Fluid intake (drinking)

Hi all,

I've read on many posts that people are getting head aches, feeling tired, dry eyes and many other symptoms.

I also note that many people suggest to drink lots of water/fluids as one thing to do to help the situation.

I thought I would share my thought on it all.

Everyone knows that the "experts" suggest that 8 glasses (or 2 litres) of water is what is needed and I agree (if you can get that much down in a day)

My employer, as part of annual training provides info on heat illness (I don't think that will apply to most of you guys) and hydration that can be summed up in 5 words

wee clear twice a day

I find it a usefull motto.

I fill a 2 litre bottle with water and a little cordial to taste and make sure I have finished it before I come home from work every day, so most days I get more than 2 litres.
Some days I don't finish the bottle but I at least get 1/2 way through it.

Hope it helps someone.

Damien,

Good concise advise.

The only thing I will add is that it must be 2 litres of water.

This is because drinks such as coffee, tea, fizzy drinks etc act as a dieretic which will speed up dehydration.

The 2 litres is instead or in addition to your normal drinks.

Plus drinking lots makes you follow the motto and have a quick break from the pc which is good for the eyes.
