At long last you can get a pack 28 vials (0.8ml each) from
PostOptics for the same price as the wee bottles.
The caps are good too as they can be used to temporarily reseal the vial so you can use it throughout the day.
Have on on my desk which I have taken 4 doses out of already (two treatments per eye) and will probably last me the whole day.

i use these, but it says in the instructions to dispose after use

i wasnt aware they were resealable. last time i used a resealed vial i had a burning sensation in my eye.

What's the problem with the wee bottles Gareth?
I never leave home without one...hardly a big thing to lug around???

You are quite correct, they do say dispose of after use. What I have on my desk is a small cooler for my drink, so I put the vial in a sterile bag which is sealed and then in the cooler.
I do have the benefit of working in a laboratory.
If you were to reseal the vial and put it in a bag or a pocket, then it will get full of crud and the tip could get contaminated so causing eye irritation when next used.
Paul,
The wee bottles are fine, but the edge of the top gets crudded up if left in a pocket or ratling around in a bag so you have the same potential probelm as Asylumx points out. The top might seal better than a vial, but bugs can grow in the crud and as soon as the top is removed the bugs can creep up the top.
Both have as many good points as bad.

The main difference between single use systane and the original bottles is that single use is unpreserved, hence better for patients prone to preservative reaction.Strictly speaking they should be discarded after single use, but, in practice,if you are sensible and make sure the tip doesnt touch the eye or anywhere else it's generally OK to use more than once but never save one from one day to next.If you want to avoid taking any chances discard them after single use.

Thanks Ali,
I should have made it clear that at the end of the day I discard the vial.
