Hi!
I have just been diagnosed with KC at Gartnaval. Its pretty mild and stronger in my left eye at the moment. I am now waiting to be fitted with lenses. I am looking forward to getting them and not feeling like I am living in a Rhubarb and Custard cartoon all the time! I am 35, so as a late developer I am hoping it will not advance too far. This website has been invaluable for information and a real source of support, I am full of respect for everyone working on it!

Welcome to the group.
You are lucky being where you are as there is a very active Scotish support group and many a meeting is held at Gartnavel.

Hello and welcome.
I like many others on the forum attend Gartnavel too- I'm sure you'll do fine with the new lenses, they are great down there. Do you know what type of lenses you will be getting yet?

I take it, that it is normal to get tired when reading?

Matt,
If you are reading with KC uncorrected then it is normal to gte tierd eyes. It even happens when you are getting used to lenses or aftre a long period of lens wear.
Magnifiers help for books and magnification software for a pc.
Changing the lighting conditions helps as does customising computer screen settings as brightness and glare can be a problem for many of us and increases the rate at which we get tierd eyes.
Thanks

Thanks Gareth, that is useful. I am studying for an MBA at the moment. I had been wondering why I was getting so tired. Things are falling into place since I was diagnosed. I am chasing up the hospital for a lens fitting, the sooner the better, I think.

Matt, if what you are reading is mBA texts, then yes!! it is quite normal to get tired when reading. Even with 20-20 vision.
Where/with whom are you doing your MBA, and how are you getting on with it>
