Monitors, TV and video games.

Hi all,
I have tried a few combinations of contact lenses and my optician has finally settled on a soft lens in my left eye and RGP lens in my right eye (which is the weaker of the two). I have been wearing this combination for about a month now.
Distance vision now doesn't seem to be a problem and the double vision in my right eye is much reduced when I am reading books etc.
Now the only thing I am still having trouble with is using PC monitors and playing video games. Particularly when there is light text on a dark background it is still very distorted with a lot of ghosting.
Have others had this problem? Did you manage to resolve it? Should I be expecting better vision in this area from my contacts?
Thanks in advance,
Will

I don't know your age, but I wonder whether it might not be time to try reading glasses over your contact lenses? I had something a bit similar, went to my optometrist., told him my story and he immediately prescribed reading specs. I complained that I ought to be okay as I already wore lenses. he said "well, what do uyou expect at your age?"

"A bit of civility from an optician!"

I was 36

Monitors can be big problems. I find looking at different monitors starts to hurt my eyes fairly quickly, so I take short breaks every now and then. Also, I have recently started to use a TFT monitor with my computer which causes less disturbance to my eyes- I'm guessing becuase you dont get the same glare as a CRT and also becuase the light is 'softer'.
