Yes some good news from Moorfields!

Yea the green line is back!! It is not just on the pavement either but back from the ticket gates in the tube station! Well impressed shows what three months away from Moorfields can bring!

Went for a contact lens check as i had to cancel the last one due to iritis, only waited ten minutes which was really good and was out in half an hour! The lens is all fine so i have finally ordered a spare as i have been so worried about what would happen if i broke or lost it. The two dry areas i have are slightly better so maybe piggy backing has done some good in protecting them from my RGP. I think that Systane has been a major help as well.

I was told that i would have to pay for the soft lenses i use to piggy back which i wasn't very happy about as i thought it was classed as a bandage lens and haven't paid before. I went to the cashiers though to pay for some and for my spare RGP to be ordered and the optometrist came running up behind me to say i was right and she had overcharged me. Apparently Moorfields are charging differently with some pricing them free for use in a piggy back system and some charging a lens cost the same as a RGP. If you use a soft lens with a RGP you need to tell the optom that it IS free because it is classed as a 'bandage' lens. Rosemary i hope that you are getting somewhere with getting a refund! Hehe count it like a savings scheme somewhere near my tax return paying for a graft done privately!! :P

Also there are new leaflets which i'm sure that some have noticed at the desks all about contact lenses and how to order. Very handy!! So ... next appointment in six months!! Not like the usual two months i have needed to see an optom for recently!

Hi,

Yes, that is good news. For your eye, your purse and the green line!

Hope things continue to go as well. Was there any vision change at all?

Gosh, Sweet, that sounds all a palaver.
Do I gather you didn't have to pay for the soft lenses after all?
AIUI, you shouldn't have to - at least, that's what was decided in my case.
I have got a refund cheque - with lots of thanks to Jim in supplies and Shreeti for organising it.
I am waiting with baited breath for my next bank statement to see if it has bounced yet!!
(Does anyone know if it is possible for PGO drafts to bounce??)
I haven't had such luck with actually get any more lenses yet. It is now nearly two months since I was told they should be with me inthe post within 6 weeks.
I did have a phone call from said Jim the other day, saying he'd been passed a copy of the email I'd tried to send him and appeared to have bounced. ANyway, he was chasing it up and was hoping to be able to ring me today and let me know he'd got them in and I could collect them, but he hasn't. Maybe I'll try to contact him on Monday.
Am really needing them!! - I have one eye working, and have had for the last several months, in practice - and with the terrible hay fever this year, it is suffering badly with having to do all the work.
Talk about frustrating!!!!!!
