what happens when they do the Crosslinking?

Hello. My name is Tim. I was diagnosed with KC back in September, and I am mostly curious. What do they do during the crosslinking? From what I understand they just brush the cornea while adding drops. But how do they keep the eye open? Because presumably they'll say to blink when needed. So what do they do exactly? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tim,

They hold the eye open with small clips.

Moorfields have a leaflet describing how they perform cxl:

And this leaflet http://www.moorfields.nhs.uk/sites/defa ... king_2.pdf should give you a link to a great video about the procedure.
