Suspect

Hello my name is Kerri, im 23 and I just wondered if anyone has had similar experiences to me. Pretty much developed dry eyes and blepharitis over night and have had problems with vision ever since. My doctors refused to give me a corneal scan, so I paid for this privately because I was so concerned about the multiple ghosting images in BOTH eyes.

Corneal scan 1 showed superior steepening in left eye, right eye was fine. He said it wasn't typical of an ectatic process and sent me to a corneal specialist in Leeds. I saw him 3 months later and corneal scan 2 showed pretty much the same thing. My keratoconus prediction index for my left eye was 6.6% and 0% in my right eye. Thickness was fine and k max readings. I should mention that my symptoms are exactly the same in each eye.

So I'm in limbo at the moment, no diagnosis, but just wait and see. My vision is corrected to better than 20/20 with glasses in left eye, right eye is lazy. But the ghosting is still there and is a lot worse at night.

Any thoughts would be brilliant

Thank you

Yes, it is most annoying to be able to read 20/20 line with glasses but it not to feel like that in real life because the ghosting has an overall blurring effect.

It might be worth asking if contact lenses could improve your vision as they can reduce ghosting due to the irregular astigmatism caused by keratoconus or corneal ectasia.
