This is my first post. I've been searching the forums and the internet and haven't found the information I need.
My 18-year-old daughter just had CXL in both eyes at Moorfields on the NHS (we were referred from Birmingham). She's now 16 days post-op and everything seems to be progressing on schedule apart from one thing, namely her ability to see 'text', whether in the distance, from a book, or from a screen.
16 days on her vision is still very blurry, even when looking at large everyday objects. I had read reports that people started to drive or return to computer use after just two weeks -- Moorfields indicated this would be the case. But my daughter is far from this. My question is, when have people who have had CXL been able to read and write again? My daughter is in her final year of her A-Levels, she has offers from numerous universities, and she still can't return to school nor do any work. She's getting a little concerned. When she does try and read something after about 1 minute her vision 'disappears'.
Any thoughts on whether she is on track and people's personal experiences of recovery with regard to being able to read again.

As you say steady progress has been made so I doubt she has any serious issues due to the result of CXL; I did, as in I suffered corneal hazing but my vision deteriorated after about 10 days so it was easy to tell something was wrong!
More than likely it's just a temporary change, similar to needing a new prescription. Can I ask if your daughter is wearing contacts or glasses at the moment? I found my vision was a bit funny with glasses for a while (ended up needing a new prescription) whereas with contacts it was much better... although I only got one done at a time so could always rely on the other eye.
Sorry she is going through this... have you been back to speak to your consultant? At the end of the day they're probably going to know more than someone trying to diagnose things over the internet!

Have things improved for your daughter? Did you contact the clinic to report the difficulties she was having?
