Went for a check up and topography at the Leicester Royal Infirmary today; first time I've had the topography done in a few years and so took the opportunity to ask for copies.

All of it was pretty much Greek to me and so have spent an hour or so researching online and thought what I found may prove useful to others.

Firstly, I couldn't work out which was my left eye and which was the right  Turns out that "OD" is Oculus Dexter (Latin for right eye) and "OS" is Oculus Sinister (Left Eye).

Then started to do some digging to find out what the various measurements meant.

This PDF document from Zeiss gives a good explanation of Shape Factor, Corneal Irregularity Measurement (CIM) and TKM.

And this product PDF is handy to understand how the images are taken and what some of the output means.

I also found this free Ophthalmic Assistant Basic Training online course. The Basic Optics and Keratometry sections were an eye opener ( ), I found them really useful.

Hopefully someone else may find it useful too.
