I've just been informed today that I have PVD - Posterior Vitreous Detachment. I'm seeing floaters in both eyes although have been told everything is looking fine cornea wise (1 year on from epi-off CXL, still not stable ). I have a strong family history of retinal detachment which is on both sides of the family. They say the condition usually comes on when you are around the age of 65 although it is not uncommon in people 40-50.

I'm 23....

Is there anyone else out there experiencing this?! And will it make a difference to the sight I have left?!

Feeling like it's just one the after another at the moment, especially now the dark nights are drawing in.

Yes, you are very young to have a PVD. But annoying as they are (I've had 2 in the last 10 years) they do usually clear up completely without any effect on the vision. Mine both cleared up in a matter of weeks, though it can sometimes take longer than that. The important thing, as I'm sure you know, is to get to an A&E at the first sign of any sudden change like that. With one of mine I had a constant tiny flashing light in one eye, with the other one, I had a sudden shower of flashing lights. PVDs can be hard to tell apart from a retinal detachment without someone examining the eye, so it's always crucial to be seen quickly.
