My consultant confirmed yesterday that that I need a corneal graft in my left eye as my Keratoconus is too advanced for any other treatment.
I asked a bunch of questions, but the one I forgot to ask was how long after the surgery will it be before I can drive my car.
My other eye is 20/20 so no issues with that eye.
I know the answer will not be exact as each patient will be different, but looking for a likely timeframe as I work away from home for work (drive around 130 miles each way weekly).
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure anyone can answer your question because as you say, we're all so different pre and post graft. My own experience was that I had advanced KC in both eyes, so I'd had to give up driving some time before my first graft and there was no way I could drive after it until both eyes had been done and I had driving vision in both. But from what you said in your previous post, it sounds as though you've been totally reliant on your good eye for quite a few years so have effectively been driving on one eye for a long time. So the experience of driving post graft may not be any different. It really depends on whether the changes post graft affect the balance of your vision and you'll probably be the only one who can judge that. Can you not contact the consultant or the consultant's secretary again to see if you can get a better answer than us non-experts can give you?
If it is going to be some months before you can drive again, is the journey possible by public transport? Or car share for at least part of it? You could also talk to an employment advisor at the charity Action for Blind People to see if the 'Access to Work' scheme could provide any help. They used to provide help with transport/drivers in those sorts of circumstances, though I'm not sure if they still do with all the cutbacks!
