Water

My eyes have been really aching for the last few weeks, not just the grafted one so i didn't think it was that. Then i fainted in work a few times and thought ok this is something i need to work out. So i took the advice that work friends kept telling me and drank more. Water NOT alcohol LOL!! 8) It's not that i hate water, it's just that i honestly forget to drink it!!

Yesterday i did REALLY well and managed to make three 500ml bottles of water with a cup of tea, glass of milk and a glass of orange juice! Hehe i'm going to have a fluid chart at this rate as patients do!!!

Anyway today i woke up and this ache has gone and my eyes don't feel as sore as they have been. I guess then that i should keep this up especially as the weather is getting warmer!

But you know ... to most sensible people here, i DIDN'T need to tell you this!!! Hehe, Gareth DON'T even go there on nurses making bad patients!!!

To be honest since chatting to Jannet I have made a real effort to have a glass of water near by and up until the weekend I was managing 2 litres per day.

Saturday was the first day in over a month my lens moved to the wrong place but that was either due to lack of water that day or that I had only one systane dose instead of the normal two befoe putting my lenses in.

Since following Jannets advice, I no longer remove my lenses throughout the day and easily go 12 - 15 hours uninterupted lens wear.

This has been 2 - 3 weeks now. Still need to use Systane twice before putting lenses in, but at night I only use them if my eyes feel tierd which is getting less.

I only count water as fluid intake, coffee milk drinks etc are not included.

Feeling a lot better for it too.

Yes i think it does make a real difference. Before i started drinking more water i realised that on a 12 hour shift in work i was only having two cups of tea if that and nothing else. Then i would come home but only have one glass of juice, so work friends telling me i always look dehydrated did make sense, and with summer coming there is no hope!

Hehe no sense! LOL!!

I agree! Being hydrated is an extremely important aspect to aiding a healthy body! idealy you want to be taking 1-2 litres per day!

I have a set schedule that I do.....have a 2l bottle of water before 12 at work, then another 2l bottle in the afternoon before I head home.....and I gen hit that 3-4 days a week....

Yes I have a 2 litre bottle of water on my desk which I battle through over the day.

Excellent in my opinion.

Also has the added bonus of making me get up a lot and move away from my screen as I need the loo!!!

Bah!!

I am extremely bad at this lol! I often forget to drink as I am busy with patients non stop and it you can't talk to them when downing large quantities of water! I therefore often feel dehydrated and swear up and down to mend my ways.

I think there is no hope!

LOL! There is no hope with me either. Didn't do well today, barely made 300mls and my eyes don't like me much either. Am off to get a glass (or two ...) of water! LOL!! :P
