Very sore eye with hydrops

I have been quite lucky (from reading other posts) in that my eye with hydrops has been pain free since the start over a month ago.
Today though it is sore (feels like I've got grit in my eye) and is watering a lot.
Is there anything I can buy over the counter to put in the eye to help it calm down?

The only thing I would even consider if I was in your shoes would be Saline.....ie rinsing the eye with sterile saline solution.........unless of course the Optham has recommended something

Do you think Optrex would be ok? It seems to have natural contents

Id probably say yes and Id probably use it myself....but the issue you have here is that we may not know if the hydrops has healed up.....and if it hasnt the chances of infection increase......so I would err on the side of caution and stick to only sterile saline

Pain has gone now, as quickly as it came. Strange!

Or the small bottles of Hypromellose as they are easier to handle

Craig wants to know if there's anything he can get over the counter to help a painful post-hydrops eye:
Paracetamol?
alternatively aspirin or ibuprofen?
Not trying to be facetious, but that's what I went for when my eyes were sore with hydrops (or other problems, actually). readily available and far cheaper than most eye lotions.
