Been back a few days now and just catching up with some work here at the moment, but Easter was great, good weather, good company and good food, can't be much better than that!

My eye has been acting up thou, and right now, I'm gearing up to goto hospital, a stitch 'plinked' loose late last night ... that was sore, right now my friend had a look and said the stitch is 'pointing out' and I can feel it rubbing against my eyelid. Normally I'd be freaking out but I've learned to just be calm, it's really not such a big problem they'd be out in a couple of weeks anyway, for some reason my eye is 'pushing' the stitches out and for me it can't go soon enough to get them all removed on May 18th to be exact.

Anyway, believe it or not, I've still had time to continue my essay on String Theory and a philosophical look at multi-dimensions - I've finally started writing my new novel about 3mths work a head of me, but I need the research down and understood before I can really get my teeth into the subject. So if anyone potentially has any online resources other than a regular 10page deep google find, please let me know... maybe the Borg will be useful there

Hey! Great to see you back!! Isn't it strange how soon we get used to a loose stitch and how it feels after so much stressing and making sure that you don't break any! Gad that yours will be removed soon! I only have two left as well and can't wait as i'm desperate to swim again!!

Hoping that your theory work is going well, nothing much to say on that, except life does go on!

I'm a bit confused (and nosey)about you having your stitches out, I thought you just had your graft a couple of months ago, or is this the other eye?

No, you're right. To maybe explain better. I've only had my left eye grafted DALK at the end of Jan there 06. I was just, hmmm 2mths post op when I had to have 1 stitch removed bc it had come loose, next mth, ie, May 18th, I'll be having the remaining stitches removed, which puts it at 4mths post op... I'm in some discomfort and pain right now, I have an update that I'll type out tomorrow, but reading is even a bit of a pain too.
But generally stuff is okay.

I know, i am thinking that wow that is dam early as well! I haven't had all of mine removed from a DALK yet and i had it quite a while before!!

Well....I knew that majority were taken out at the 6-8 month mark...but 4 months seems early...but then again if he is healing fast (which it sounds like he is) than that must be the reason why they are removing them, if at all they do....

And in all honesty....the top layers of the cornea are fast healing anyway.......be good to see how his progresses......as I am thinking of booking myself in for mine in the near future.

yeah, May, is when I get all the stitches removed ... its only 12, well 10 now since yesterday heh.
I will say, even my surgeon has been impressed at how fast my eye has recovered and healed. The tissue, graft etc he explained has already fully attached and the only thing the stitches are doing for me now is annoying me. The shape of my eye from the map I had done, shows it as much better condition than my right 'ungrafted eye' because there is no KC in my left eye now, I'm told a lens fit (if ness) will be comfortable and judging by how good my eyesight is at this stage I have very positive prospects in reaching 6/6.
But we can't progress until I get the stitches out and my surgeon said also, my eye is behaving as if it is 'pushing' the stitches out anyway, two have already be taken out due to that, and the other stitches, althou fixed are just sitting there doing nothing as such - so better out with regards to my case, than in, so I can recover from this stage earlier than expected. Obviously no one can really say why, either I'm just lucky, the vitamins I'm taking are really giving me the edge, or my surgeon is a lot better than I ever knew, either way - the abrasion and pain aside that I have atm - so far things are pretty good and I certainly wont complain.

To all, I wont be online again until Tuesday but while away I will write up a proper progress report, so to speak and hopefully post some new photos of my eye as well...

I cant help but draw similarities between our recovery...bearing in mind I had the Full Graft......and the thing we did which seems to be commin is the additional aids we took......interesting
