Surgeons appt today!

Ok am finally going back to see my surgeon this afternoon, i couldn't go last Friday as Good Friday kinda got in the way! LOL!

Have changed my mind and am quite happy for him to remove all the stitches now as i am in pain again. Hopefully everything will be fine and he will agree with me, as he wanted to do this last time. So really i have had three weeks extra with a loose stitch so i think that now is the right time to remove them all and find out what happens.

Am scared with what he will say about everything and how well it is healing, but am excited to hopefully be at the next stage when i am stitch free!!

Will let you know what happens! :wink:

Do you remember what Pinhole vision ypu are getting from the grafted eye?.....Although if he remvoes them today than this may go out of the window

Yes 6/24 with pinholes. I know that it will probably all change though when he takes out the stitches so will just wait and see what happens!

How many stitches are you having out Sweet?

My first graft had a continuous stitch so the whole thing was taken out at once - talk about ouch. :( My eye was very sore for a good few days and took a while to settle down again. I hope yours doesn't do the same.

Yes FINALLY some good news!!!! :lol:

I went in for my appt to see him and said that it was ok now and that he could take out all the stitches. Then though after looking at my eye he said that now he has changed HIS mind!! LOL! I was laughing then saying please make your mind up as we have been playing about with these stitches for the last few visits and now i have decided that he CAN take them out! But he said it was now his turn to be stubborn and he was only going to take out two, being the loose one and the one opposite it! So now i am left with two, though i am sure that he told me i had five last time. Anyway it is all ok!

So the good news is that everything is fine and it has all healed really well. The lower part which was lifting after he took out so many stitches early has all settled and the astigmatism is really good! He said i do seem to have healed really fast and maybe that was why they broke in the first place, so it might not have been my fault, so i am really happy with that as i was so dam careful!

On vision i still see 6/24 with pinholes but the cornea is +1 not -12 (or whatever big number it was!) so he is more than happy with that as he thought it would come out about +5/6

He is also really happy with my ungrafted eye as that has healed and my vision has improved! When i came to London it was 6/6 but with all the problems last year i lost a line and it was 6/9. Now though it is 6/5 and 6/4 with pinholes! So i am dam impressed!!! :lol: 8)

So now i am going to stop working my way through the book of eye conditions, as my surgeon says, it is a dam big book anyway and it could take me my lifetime!!:roll:

So am really happy now, and for the first time in the eight months since my graft i have had some good news!!! :lol: Now on FML three times a day and not four, and some antibiotics for a week and hopefully will be less stressed!

AND ... the major difference is an appt in two months and not every three weeks to a month which i have been attending!!!

Thats really good news....Have you tried being refracted in that eye?...I would suggest you go try for glasses........you may even be surprised what you can now achieve! +1 is nothing!!

Stay away from Contacts till her says...but glasses are def a good bet...as then you can rest the other eye!...and start utilisng the "new" one

Well, Congratulations Sweet - it's about time you had some good news from your consultant... and here it is in spades! :mrgreen:

I'd wait until after the last 2 stitches are out before going for glasses, or that could be a waste of money... especially if you can see 6/5 out of the other eye!

Really pleased for you. :D
