Dry Eyes with RGP'S

Hello

Does anyone have any help or advice for dealing with dryness whilst at work?

I am currently wearing one RGP on my right eye, the lens is slightly larger than normal and I am able to see the bottom line on the chart, vision is excellent and comfort is really good too, however whilst at work the lovely combination of air con and heating means my eyes become dry. I have tried eye drops and these help, but seem to get redness and dryness throughout the day. Whilst outside I am not getting any dryness.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Kieran,
This is such a common problem, especially in the winter months. Would you be able to have a desktop humidifier? If you put 'humidifier' into the search on this forum, you'll find quite a few posts from people this has worked for. Having plants on or around the desk, or even a bowl of water on the desk can also help.

I use hypromelllose eye drops from the pharmacy and keep them by my desk, They are 1.80ish each, and thicken the tear layer. try and sit by the window and open it a crack if it's highly centrally heated

Adjusting the rads if you can. Making a conscienscious decision to blink fully, looking over the top of your monitor to the distance and blinking also helps
