In homeopathy this symptom of seeing things in your peripheral vision is well documented, so we are NOT going crazy - well, at least not about that!
I have just checked my repertory and found the following under:-
Vision, Black colors before the vision
with the following sub headings:-
animals, balls, disk, figures, flies, halo, horns, motes, moving, objects, plate, serpents, veil
This is just an example. There are 23 pages, with 2 columns per page of various strange visual disturbances. So we are not strange and should perhaps be more up front about what we see. It is probably quite common to experience such phenomena.
Best of all homeopathy may be able to help some of us. My little black creatures have certainly gone!
The world just aint as it seems

I used to see teenage mutant ninja turtles and elephants in front of my car. I have been known to hit the brakes for things that were not there also. <ost of my visions were when it was dusk or night and I was tired. I always put it down to tiredness. Have not seen them post graft maybe there was more to it than not enough sleep.

This has been fascinating to read.
I have occaisionally caught a glimpse of something black rushing past out of the corner of my right eye when I'm out doors but when I've looked there's nothing there. I've never mentioned it to any one and it doesn't bother me. It does make me wonder if I'm going a bit loopy tho'. Mind you some people would argue that I've gone already!
Lesley.
