i have to admit that i personally would feel uncomfortable with a consultant who made a decision about my health and treatment without having actually seen me. i think i would be questioning if he had my best interests at heart.
i'm almost certain that you are now entitled to a second opinion and are allowed to be referred elsewhere if you wish it
