Sometimes a break is really helpful so although you may feel you don't want to go with your friends, it may well help.

When I got really down in 2004 because i thought I would loos my job, how will we cope, could my wife work full time and I look after my daughter etc.....

Through work, the paid for councelling provided by BUPA, you might be able to get a similar thing from your hubbies work. It is all done on your terms and I found it was nice just to talk to a complete stranger on neutral grounds to help get things clear in my own mind.

That is when I found this group and got to know people on line and in person that had KC. Some of which decided the graft route was not for them so they adapted well to the world of partialy sighted. I heard earlier tis year the guy I met at a Birmingham meeting now has a guide dog. He still enjoys his familly and is regularly out tending his alotment.

I found him a real inspiration in that I know it possible to lead an active and fulfilled life in the world of partially sighted or blind.

Done partially sighted once with a stick and I survived, perhaps because i knew it was only temprorary but it can be done.

Wine away Anne, you have supported us and we are there to support you too.

If you provide the venue, Andrew seems to have volunteerd to be tea boy, I will bring the cakes. Unfortunatly one of my alcoholic cakes takes about 3 months to make. Well one day to bake, the rest of the time is getting all the alcohol in :D

Thats a though, shall we have a KC Christmas bash?

If I make the cake now, it might just be iced in time :D

Thanks all.

I have been down the councelling route before, but the funding ran out at my surgery and i only got one session!
Its also very hard to fit things like that in because of the kids and not being able to drive, and the lack of confidence i now have in going out alone.

i have made a appointment to see john Dart on the 12th September so i am going to sort it all out then.[i hope] i think i need to tell him how hard i really am finding things.

I am off to Great Yarmouth this weekend [i had no choice kids want to go and hubby can't wait to get rid of me  ]

Sorry to sound so miserable and i realise you all have it just as bad.
i promise to try to cheer up by the time i get back

Anne,

Look up Lynn white while in Yarmouth, she is one of our resident optoms that post.

Enjoy your weekend and splashing about in the sea. Don't led the kids bury you in sand

Anne,
I guess by the time you read this; you will be back from Yarmouth. I hope you had a good time and that it helped rather than hindered.
It sounds like maybe this is related to the fatigue, you were talking about before? I only have one child and that wears me out! Often getting out of the house helps, but if KC makes that a trial then it must be very hard.
I hope things look up soon. Like Andrew said, you are probably further along the path than you think.
All the best
