Agreed! I think it all comes down to fear. It takes a secure and confident man or woman sometimes to do the listening without pasting their own insecurities all over somebody's feelings. If you can (and its not easy) you have to accept absorb even another's position and their right to it. Just because you have a differnet angle doesn't mean you're right. I know the guys here are really understanding, that's why I can admit to being an eejit about cornea donation! I am way off a graft at the moment and maybe never need one, so best I make sure all my other organs can be donated and get down to the blood bank too!

Organ donation
Just to add that on my 'day off' from the Capital Ring Walk, I took part in this study and, like Louise, found it a very interesting and positive experience. It's all very relaxed and conversational, but I certainly found it made me think more deeply about all the issues. I'd certainly encourage others to take part, and the researcher would be particularly interested in hearing from anyone of Asian or Afro-Carribean origin as one of the purposes of the study is to look at whether additudes to transplants differ among different ethnic groups.
