5 years ago I was in a hospital gown waiting to chat to the anesthetist for my inital cornea transplant, where and what has occured over the last 5 years?

*a regraft
* countless episodes of rejection
* countless reactions to drops
* being registered as legally blind due to my keratoconus
* getting knocked back from guide dog training because I was pregnant
*plenty of giggles thanks to good friends
*graduating university
* moving house
*getting divorced
*becoming a mummy

so as they say 6 of one n half n douzen of the other. not to mention loosing several pairs of specialist sunglasses. speaking of which need to go find a pair as off for a walk with the now 2 year old who makes me smile more n more each day x
May09 Diagnosed with KC, March 2010 after a failed transplant it has left me legally blind a long cane user (since 2010) who is blind in a once sighted world

Life is full of ups and downs and keratoconus obviously adds quite a bit to the downs! I'm glad you can still list some of the ups though... do you expect anything to be different another 5 years down the line?

5 years from now id be happy KC wise to avoid rejection n infections n preserve the now regained limited sight the graft has given without the aid of lenses, it is only enough to read the top line on the chart unaided but is better than where I was ..
