Intacs Night Vision

Postby jc3555 » Mon 05 Nov 2012 11:54 pm

I'm considering getting Intacs fitted but I've been reading some often mixed information about how good they are for settling night vision issues. Does anyone who already has them have increased glare/halos etc at night? If you have big pupils are you likely to have night vision problems with Intacs? This seems to be the only image I can find online of what intacs vision can be like at night -

Thanks for any help

hI, I had the original intacs inserted a few years ago and also earlier this year tried the new SK intacs. Unfortunately for me neither of them allowed me to drive at night.
They never improved the halo or ghosting. It was quite scary for me even being a passenger in a car or crossing the road as i could appear to see more lights and would say to people they ere driving to close to the car in front but in actually fact they were a save distance, it was only because the lights were so elongated and starry because of my KC.

I wasnt able to tolerate lenses either.
obviously this is only my experience and I know that other people have had much better results.

I only had them in my right eye as this is my worst KC eye.... have always tried to get my right eye to a decent leve before they tried surgical procedures on my left.....although they do monitor it with the orbscan and the KC isnt progressing as fast as it did wiht my right.

Last week I had a graft. Hoping this time next year i have the freedom to drive and be out in the dark safely on my own.

Wishing you success!
ali
