One for the ladies

Postby Egc211210 » Sat 20 Oct 2012 8:52 pm

Hi
I just wondered if any ladies has experienced problems with their KC after having the mirena coil fitted. I have one reasonable eye but now I am using kerasoft lenses because my vision with glasses is deteriorating. I am not sure if there is any contraindications for using the coil with this condition. Prior to pregnant my KC was always fairly stable in my good eye

I doubt whether it's the coil that has had an effect. But we have had reports here of changes in KC after pregnancy - probably due to all the hormonal changes that occur then. It doesn't seem to affect all women; a thread on the topic a while ago had equal numbers of people saying pregnancy had resulted in changes in their KC as those who hadn't experienced changes. It would be interesting to see some research on this topic.
All the best
Anne
