Unfortunately I think thats the case. My consultant was very keen on the idea of an implantable contact, until they did a test which ruled it out as an option sadly.

Though I have to admit, the idea of implantable lenses I find abit uncomfortable!

I wonder if you have examined with your surgeon the idea of treating the cross-linked eye through the t-PRK laser method, in order to reshape the cornea...

In the very near future, almost all vision KC problems will be resolved by the use of specific Implantable Contact Lenses. It is a matter of time....

How would implantable contact lenses work if your vision changes, like astigmatism rotation, or progression of KC, or myopia in older age?

Would you have to keep having procedures to change the prescription?

hello Munster,

The (customized) implantable contact lenses should be a great solution only for stabilized corneas (after cxl or other future methods).

Greetings,
