Graft on the 22nd

Postby matty04 » Fri 09 Apr 2010 1:18 pm

Well it's finally here after almost exactly 12 months of being on the waiting list i have a date for a full graft on my left eye on the 22nd! it's ten years since i had my right eye done & i hope this is as successful.

It's good to know this forum is available & i appreciate all the great info & help that is on offer. I will update as to my progress, fingers crossed for a smooth op :D

Well it's two weeks post op now & i feel lucky that all seems very well & i have had no problems at all so far (fingers crossed). After i had my first graft 10 years ago it seemed so much more traumatic! i imagine the procedure may have improved somewhat, either way time will tell how successful the graft will be.

 Shock news though as just days after my op my other half appears to have KC as well, she is 45 so very late for diagnosis and although it has not been officially diagnosed she has had a corneal topography which showed a lot of red areas and is now waiting to see the consultant again.
