Hi!
New to this board, though I used to be on a KC mailing list.
I was diagnosed some 20 years ago and received my first graft at
Moorfields under Mr Buckley (an experimental technique).
More recently, I somehow got Corneal ulcers on the graft, and
it was regrafted at Southend Hospital who also grafted the
other eye 18 months or so later.
So far so good, though I am being monitored for Glaucoma
due to family history and some slightly odd astigmatism!
I use glasses - I tried lenses but couldn't got on with them, and
my eyes are/were not suitable for Sclerals (I was up for a trial
whilst at Moorfields but my eyes were deemed too small!)
I use an excellent optician, Williams in Benfleet, Essex who are very
KC aware (one of the team consults at Southend Hospital)
Probably rambled on a bit, but I wanted to introduce myself
and to say that, given access to the right people at the right time,
KC can be accomodated into a 'normal' life!
Au Res.,
Paul

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum!
It's good to hear that your regrafts have been successful, and thank you for such an encouraging post. And if you'd like to rejoin the mailing list, do e-mail me with your postal address anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk. Another newsletter is about to pop through members' letterboxes in the next day or two.

Paul, welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear about your set back; although it is good to know that you are getting on fairly well after your grafts and re-graft.
All the best
