There are several economically priced hotels in walking distance of the conference: The Brunswick Hotel is very nice, there is a Premier Inn nearby, The Merchant Lodge isn't far away ...

Re: Wasn't sure where to post
We are just looking at hotels at the moment and currently there arent many cheaper hotels available that weekend within walking distance of the Conference Centre - dont know if there is something on in Glasgow that weekend but all the cheaper hotels are booked up already.
Our plan is to go up on friday night after work, and drive back on the saturday evening. We are currently looking at hotels outside of glasgow to stay at, then driving in on the morning.
Let me know if you go up on the friday evening, and depending on where we are staying maybe meet up for a drink/bite to eat.

Several of the committee members who are organising the conference and coming up from London will be staying at Strathclyde Uni which does cheap accommodation (£35 per night for single room and breakfast). It's very close to the conference venue as well. I don't want to expose the uni to spammers by putting up the contact details here, but if anyone wants more details, please e-mail me on anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk and I'll pass on the information.
Hope to see lots of you at the conference!

Re: Wasn't sure where to post
I am in Leeds, would prefer to travel with people and stay in same place as people as despite spending a fair bit of time in Glasgow as Fiance's parents live 40 mins drive, and my wedding is in Glasgow on Aug 30th, I can't ever navigate my way aroudn it!
My inlaws to be who are ace
are on holiday over that weekend or said I could stay with them and they would drive me
Ben is snowed under with uni work so I doubt he would be able to travel up with me
