That is interesting! Though the way I read it, I'm not sure if it applies to KC. Maybe one of our professional members could tell us more.

It appears to me that this was used to treat a condition affecting the epithelium.
With us the KC is the thicker middle layer of the cornea.
Now consider how CXL is done with the epithelium removed and some of the consultents then place a bandage contact lens on the eye during the initial recovery. To me it is then reasonable to hypothesise that a similar process could be applied to the treatment of KC.
1) Remove the epithelium as done in CXL treatment.
2) Place bandage contact lens with stem sells grown on them over the exposed tissue.
3) Let the stem cells do thier job.
Stem cells have succesfully been used in other medical conditions so why not KC if you can get them to the specific area they are needed?
