I might not be sensitive but I am vary wary of people putting things in my eyes, the only people to succeed are Lynn and two optoms at my hospital.

Re: Kerasoft 3
The early days of trying these lenses were fun, Lynn trying to put a lens in my eye while I climbed the wall

I cant wait Lynn! im looking forward to finally being able to see clearly again!!....let the tears begin!!
Re: Kerasoft 3
well it looks like i counted my chicks before they hatched!! still early days i know ..have been playing around with lens i got from "optician X " (LYNN !!) mainly trying to get the hang of getting it in my eye and then removing it , the removing part isnt to bad its the getting it in in the first place which is the tricky part and having spades for hands dosent help either!! im sure i'll get there with practice as we all know apparently it makes perfect
put the lens in this morning after many attempts and im not sure wether its the fact that i havent worn a lens of any kind in my left eye for so many years or its the lens which isnt quite right but it tends to rotate abit at the mo which can make binocular vision abit strange as the left eye now trys to over power my right eye which makes vision a little blurry which "opt X "
assured me she can overcome which im in no doubt off .
the good thing is that after all these years i think i may slowly be getting somwhere which is promising to say the least , it helps that "opt X"
is so driven to get great results ...
will update after my visit next week

Re: Kerasoft 3
yes, Matt, I think we can drop the "Optician X" bit now lol! (This is, I suspect, in response to me saying its a bit difficult trying to conduct a lens fitting when everything you say and do is reported here!!!! Matt said lots of people talk about their optoms and I said yes, but not by name!)
Matt, your eyes are still probably quite watery which is why the lens is moving about a bit. We did discuss the left eye "waking up" and interfering with the right - this is exactly what I was warning you about. Your brain simply hasn't got the hang of working the two of them together again yet. Especially as, at least when I saw you, the lens was giving you slightly better vision than the RGP in your right eye.
Also remember what I said about having an RGP in one eye and a soft in the other - they move in different ways to each other so that makes it even harder to work them together. Once you get used to handling them better and your watering settles down, I think your overall vision will improve.

Re: Kerasoft 3
I've go so used to perfect vison in both eyes for all my waking hours that it takes a couple of hours for both eyes to work togeher after an eye test. It is fine testing one eye at a time but while on has been out of action for 5 minutes or so it takes the same time again for them to work together again.
It was soemtime before I reported the full details of the lens fitting until we had set some ground rules so the information shared was beneficial and constructive especially as we suspected demoulding of the cornea would be such an issue.

And theres me thinking this was a forum to disscus experiences..wasnt being negative in the slightest so i dont appreciate the responses!!
theres no harm in sharing info with others is there!?!? as for the watering well thats settled but vision still isnt great as i appreciate its early days and i dont expect miracles , i also really appreciate finally finding an expert whos so dedicated to KC
but it seems strange that adding power to lens seems to alter the way it feels from the intial sample lens (laymans terms i know , but hey were not all experts!)
heres looking forward to next week to see what happens..the lenses seem to progress each time i visit which is good.

This is a forum for sharing experiences and we all do it in our own way so I don't quite understand the above?
If you look back at my thread I was trying two different lens types so I had to make sure I was being objective so I hope my earlier post didn't cause offence?

Re: Kerasoft 3
Hi Matt
Adding power to a lens alters thickness. If its an RGP, it can alter the way a lens moves around and if its soft, it can alter edge thickness it can feel different from the trial lens which had no power in it. Exactly the same principle as spectacle lenses but on a much smaller scale.
If the lens has rotated slightly, as you mentioned, the vision will not be optimum yet. This is why I also wanted you to get used to wearing a lens so that your watering reaction will settle down and we can get a better idea of the fit.

Re: Kerasoft 3
Hi all..its been a while since i did an update so thought i would mention that all seems to be going well on the kerasoft front , i have since been posted some new lenses after many visits to the opticians for myself to trial at home to see which fits best and gives the best vision..after my left eye becoming rea-customed to wearing a lens i have found that all the intial tearing reaction has subsided and i can actually get the lens in and out of my eye
, it took a little practice but im getting there ..
i can also now tolerate wearing the kersoft allday which is promising , to be honest usally once its in my eye i dont really know that its there apart from the obvious vision improvement which is nearly as good as my right eye with a rgp lens...
i saw my nhs optician today and she seemed to be ok with the kerasoft aswell which is good as i thought she might be mad for me seeking alternative advice and a second opinion but she was cool with it

Re: Kerasoft 3
Hi Everyone
Writtig at a post after a bit ,
Kerasoft3 are very good , actually excellent , especially like the the way Lynn tries for differet designs ad get you the best for your eyes
I am usig them for 6 moths now .
What I love about them is wearig times , with RGP it was very difficult for me .
Once you are used to them , they are not difficult to put it on ad off.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives
