Can anyone recommend some good "all in one" cleaning solutions for me, for gas permeable lenses?
I used to have Boston Simplus "all in one" cleaning/conditioning/rinsing solution etc, and that was very good. However, it costs nearly £7 for a smallish bottle and only lasts about just under 2 weeks. This used to add up every month so thought I'd try a different one. So I bought Boots own "all in one" solution, because its nearly twice the size and cheaper. However, this isn't that good at all. Can anyone recommend any other solutions that are really good? I prefer the "all in one" as opposed to buying separate cleaner and separate conditioning solution etc. I also have an allergy to Baush & Lombe, so they're out.
If not, I'll just keep looking on the market to see what's out there.
Thank you.

I use the separate Boston solutions, have seen the all-in-one but not tried it, just curious do you still have to rinse with saline?

Re: Keratoconus - Gas Permeable Lenses/cleaning solution
When I was an RGP wearer I used Quattro. Not easy to find on the High St but available at Post Optics on the internet.
Some unqualified advice - whilst all in one solutions claim to do both the clean and storing jobs I still believe that using a cleaning solution in conjunction with a wetting solution is the best way to go. I may be wrong and stand corrected but I just cannot see how one solution claiming to do two jobs can be as effective as two seperate solutions each specialising in their own field.
As such, I used to use Quattro with Miraflow as the cleaning solution.

I have to say I feel the same, I've never switched to an all-in-one because rightly or wrongly I also find it hard to believe that one solution can fulfill the function of two. It's like the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioners, those products do two different things. Happy to be corrected though

Thank you everyone for replying, I really appreciate it.
I do agree with you who say an all in one won't be as good as a cleaner and conditioner, but its so much easier using an all in one, and cheaper too.
Loopy Lou - No, you don't need to use saline with the Boston Simplus, it does it all for you. I did like this but it works out too expensive and also it can remove colour from your carpet. I accidentally spilt some and now it looks like its bleached the carpet.
Andrew, thank you, I will try AMO total.
Thanks again everyone.

I used many different solutions before finding Amo total care which seems to work best for me , i always use a seperate cleaner though every night and use the amo just for storing and re-wetting..i always rinse my lens with saline and then re-apply some fresh amo before wearing my lens,,,,once week i use a good peroxide cleaner to thoroughly clean my lens,,,

Re: Keratoconus - Gas Permeable Lenses/cleaning solution
Hello again,
i've been away for a couple of weeks, but just wanted to say thank you to everybody who took the time to write and send me private messages, you really have been great. I'm so glad I've found this site so I can just say hello or ask any questions. I've got another appointment with my optomotrist at the hospital this afternoon, so not really looking forward to it. My new lenses have come in and seeing she didn't check my eyes properly or give me a vision test, I'm not too optimistic about them.
I would like to ask how you get to view your private messages. I need to write to some people and I don't know how to view them. Can anyone help?
Thank you again.
