Can anyone help

Postby Lizb » Mon 24 Nov 2008 5:31 pm

I recently got SynergyEyes Contact Lenses and have had minimal problems with these contact lenses until this last week. I have been off work sick and had not been wearing my lenses whilst ill (about a week), restarted wearing my lenses, increasing wear time until last thursday when i wore them all day at work. I have been using wetting drops to stop my eyes drying out and becoming itchy whilst wearing my lenses. I forgot my wetting drops on Thursday and mid-afternoon I noticed that my vision had gone cloudy (like the white gunk that occasionally block your visions but there was nothing there). I work in the town so was able to pick up some drops and just thought i had let my eyes get too dry (have left my eyes longer than this and never had problems). Friday morning my eyes were a bit itchy so didnt put my lenses in the morning, and as i was going out on saturday night i didnt put them in until saturday night. part way through the evening i noticed i had the same problem and hubby noticed that my eye had gone bloodshot, took the lenses out there and then. Since then my right eye (non KC) has been extremely sore, bloodshot and very poor vision. I can usually manage with just glasses as i just have poor vision as opposed to KC in my right eye. i have had my screen on extremely large font (so much so my boss could read the screen from half way across the office  ) and i was only just coping.
The vision in my right eye is now very misty, very poor and the eye is very sore and bloodshot, has anyone got an ideas what may be up?
As i only have a balance lens in my glasses for my left eye i am currently working with minimal vision (not even able to drive when got my glasses on). I have got an appointment tomorrow with my normal optician (who have good experience of KC and my eyes) and am hoping they can reasssure me but any ideas.....

If it were an eye with KC I'd wonder if you might be getting a ydrops.
hydrops, even.
But in a non-KC eye....?? - I think you are doing the right thing getting it checked out. It could be just drying out, but an expert inspection is what's needed.
Good luck, and hope it turns out to be nothing serious.
