Question about recovery after C3-R

Postby dplees » Wed 18 Jun 2008 8:55 am

I had C3-R on Monday and was wondering how long it usually takes for ones vision to return to a preop state (I know everyone is different and I am particularly odd). I've just this second taken my patch off and things are a little blurry, although I'm not sure if this is due to the drops, I think I also remember reading that a contact lens is put into the eye.
Oh well, no pain no gain, looking forward to getting my scans done tomorrow. I can sense some flattening already!

I think you have answered your own question: it varies! :D

All the best with your appointment tomorrow and with your recovery.

FYI

I went to see Dr Jury for a checkup today. I asked him about the haze and when he thought my vision would return to normal, he said that the vision usually returns after a week (it appears that in only 5% of cases the haze may remain for up to 3 months).

So far so good, seems like a nice painless precedure.

I had my right eye C3R'ed 2 days ago, I'm still having to use proxymetacaine drops to suppress the pain. My eye didn't take well to the bandage contact lens... One thing that really is helping alot is taking the homeopathic remedy "Arnica". It really is working a treat on reducing the discomfort. I now know what everyone means about the bluriness and the haze. I'm playing in an orchestral concert tomorrow, reading the music with the other eye will be fun! :D

chrisdemetriou

Really glad to know that your CXL is now behind you. All the best for a speedy and full recovery and then many years of good eyesight without having to worry about KC.

Ah, the joys of trying to read sheet music with eye problems!
Good luck with the concert. What do you play? - which instrument, I mean - and what's the programme?

chrisdemetriou, i just read your message and for some reason thought you said you were still getting pain after 2 years, I nearly had another panic attack. I like the arnica idea, I'm off to the shops to get some now.
