I've been looking at a few articles on Astigmatic Keratotomy and it seems like a safe way of treating astigmatism. Does anyone know if this treatment can be applied to eyes with kerataconus.
I've been told by my opticain, that since my intacs the only thing that is preventing my vision from being good is the high degree of astigmatism (-4.00). I have such bad headaches in my right eye because of my prescription it would be great to find some low risk method of treating this.
Cheers
PS is anyone aware of any other treatments that can be used for astigmatism - obviously lasik is not an option.

Re: Astigmatic Keratotomy
I have heard of Astigmatic keratotomy beiong used for post-keratoplasty astigmatism, and I have heard of LASIK being used for this, too. I am not sure that I have ever seen it commended for use in the thinned keratoconic cornea.
