Greetings all!! Here I am, just over 12-months on with the DALK in my right eye. There are still two stitches remaining, may be there forever, I guess, and the stitch over the lens insert slit.
I have been through 3-lenses and have now quit wearing one at all. The discomfort was a bit overwhelming and I found that the visual accuity was the same with it as without it. I work in a very dusty (wood dust) location and it only takes a little very fine airborne dust to ruin my day.
My specialist tells me that I will never have regular glasses. I don't understand this....he can't/won't explain it.....and if any of you can, please tell me.
My left DALK was done in mid-April 2007 so it is still pretty new......the 16-point running stitch is in place and the Dr. says it will stay there. The RGP gives me REALLY GOOD vision, but is very dust sensitive, more so than the Right one. When it "crashes" I take it out and try again the next day. You all know about the pain......I can't describe it to the persons around me, they think that an eyelash is a problem.....and we all know better.
You all got me through this......THANKS AGAIN.
Piper
