Hello all.
I don't know that much about keratoconus. A friend of mine, who is suffering from it, is coming to UK in October and would like to buy Ultravision contact lens. He's from Italy and no many distributors of those lens can be found there.
He told me that in Italy, distributors of such lens also perform a screening for keratoconus to release the right lens.
Here in UK I don't know how that works.
Does he need first to contact an eyecare professional or actually lens distributors have the right devices to perform a screening.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Elisabetta

Re: please help
Hello Elisabetta, and welcome to the forum.
I don't know the answer to your question for certain, but I'm pretty sure that you can only receive contact lenses after you have a prescription from an optometrist. The likes of Sainsbury's and Tesco will sell contact lenses online, but only once they are in receipt of your paper prescription.
Hope this helps. Can anyone expand on this info?

Re: please help
Hi there!
I understand that you do need a prescription to be able to get any lenses in person or online. Other than that i am not sure. It is better to have the right prescription though as you don't want to make the eyesight worse.
