one month out and also a new contact

Postby piper » Wed 23 May 2007 11:28 pm

Well, i am one month out with my new left cornea and acrylic lens inplant. visited with my Optham on Monday and all looks good, I guess.

Also, was fitted for a new contact lens in my right eye, grafted in Oct. 2006......and they will order it just as soon as I sent them my cheque in the amout of $250 USD. With a "fitting lens", i.e., one with the proper base curve but no correction in place and the opticians instrument in front of my face I was seeing 20-20, or PERFECT, according to the doctor......but, he was not seeing all the extra images and ghosts.

He feels that if I wear the contact for a while it may reform the surface of my cornea and eliminate some of the aberations. I am hoping he is right.

The new lens will be a scleral size, that is wide, and that should help.

Never a dull moment.

Cheers, Piper

I'm pleased for you but so jealous. Eye is fine but waiting for a contact lens fit 18 months post graft.

Of all the lenses I ever wore, my Scleral was my favourite. I wish you well!
